About the Race

When is the race?

Sunday 27th September 2026 at 10am

The Hopton 10k takes place on the first Sunday in October (or late September) every year.

Where does the race start?

The race starts and finishes at Hopton Primary School, Woodend Road, Mirfield, WF14 8PR. From there, the route heads through Lower Hopton before entering the beautiful woodland trails.

What’s the route like?

The 10k route offers fantastic variety: quiet country roads, woodland trails, bridleways, and footpaths. Expect some short but challenging climbs and stunning views over the Calder Valley. Given the time of year, there may be a few muddy patches!

Who can enter?

You must be 15 years of age or older to enter the Hopton 10k.

Race Rules

Can I walk the race?

The Hopton 10k is a running race licensed by UK Athletics. Participants should make best efforts to complete the course within the 90-minute cut-off. Marshals will start packing up at 11:30am.

Can I run with a buggy or wheelchair?

Unfortunately, the terrain (woodland trails, stiles, uneven ground) cannot accommodate buggies or wheelchairs.
